Skånetrafiken is responsible for public transport on city buses in 10 major cities, region buses and trains in Skåne. We plan and develop the traffic as well as promote it, the buses and trains are then run by our many entrepreneurs.

Skånetrafiken is part of Region Skåne, a regional public body.
Region Skåne's work lies within the areas of health, medical and dental services, public transport, trade and industry development, sustainable development, promotion of investment, town- and infrastructure planning and culture.
Regional Council
The highest decision-making political organ of Region Skåne is the Regional Council with 149 members elected every four years by the inhabitants of Skåne in a general election.
The Board of Public Transport then governs, develops and co-ordinates the administration of Skånetrafiken's activities. Skånetrafiken is funded by Region Skåne (35 percent) and by revenues from ticket sales (65 percent).
